1. The
Home-based Business
The Home-based Businesses is the perfect way to launch
a low overhead, high profit business. As a USA Card
Service Referral Agent, you only need the commission
from a couple customers to cover your entire initial
investment! Everything you earn after is all profit!
Most new Agents get a card for themselves, a family
member and a friend, and have covered their investment
cost on their first day in business! This low investment/high
commission structure combined with the benefits of
a home-based business make for a great earning potential.
Below are a few tips to help or
ganize your home business.
• Rent a post office box and use that address
on your promotional mail, business cards and stationery,
doing this will make it less obvious that you are
working from home. The professional image you portray
is very important to your clientele.
• Install a phone line in your home dedicated
to your business. Use an answering machine for incoming
business calls.
• Organize your workspace with great care. Make
sure that you have sufficient space to meet your needs.
• When scheduling appointments with clients,
consider meeting at your client's office, or a public
place to maintain a professional image.
2. Business Cards
Have business cards made. In sales, you are
working
every time you talk with someone. Have your business
cards on you AT ALL TIMES. Hand them out freely, to
everyone. Give them a few extra cards to hand out
to others. This is very important. On the card will
be your name, phone number and website address. Do
not forget to put your new website address on your
business cards! This is where all your customers need
to go to apply for their credit cards.
It is your goal to drive customers to your website
to apply for credit cards. Below is a link to a company
that is offering 250 FREE business cards!

3. Keeping Records
Keep excellent records of entertainment
and travel
expenses. The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) tends
to audit home-based businesses more frequently—especially
when they are writing off a variety of expenses, including
the percentage of the mortgage or rent for your office
space. There are several good record keepers such
as Day Timer®, Franklin Quest® and Day Planner
that will help you keep track of your expenses. Your
accountant, a CPA is recommended, can advise you on
deductions you can take and records you must keep
for the IRS.
4. Be Prepared!
It is a good idea to put some of your earnings into
a savings account for those times when your business
is in a slump . . . and it will happen. Be Prepared!
5. Discipline Yourself
You must be a self-starter and follow a routine, just
as if you were working for any other business. In
many cases, you are the only person you can rely on
to get the job done. Make it your policy to talk with
at least 20 people a day about USA Card Service. Being
consistent will pay off.
